FAQ

What's the difference between the fine and coarse wool pads?

The fine pad has finer wool fibers with gentler cutting power. It's primarily for medium polishing (following the coarse pad) or coarse polishing on soft paint. Compared to the coarse pad, it's less likely to leave pad marks and is gentler on paint. The coarse pad is for deep scratches and heavy oxidation that requires strong cutting power.

Can the fine pad be used with J2 for coarse polishing?

Yes. The fine pad paired with J2 is especially suitable for coarse polishing on soft-paint vehicles. Soft paint is inherently more delicate — using a coarse pad might cause over-cutting or new scratches. The fine pad's gentle cutting power can safely and effectively complete coarse polishing while protecting the soft paint.

What speed should I use with the fine pad?

We recommend 600-800rpm for the fine pad. This speed range delivers the fine pad's best results while ensuring safe operation. Too high a speed may affect cutting results and generate excess heat.

Can the fine and coarse pads be used together?

Yes. The standard process is: first use the coarse pad with J2 for coarse polishing to remove deep scratches and oxidation; then use the fine pad with J2 for medium polishing to eliminate coarse pad marks and further smooth the paint; finally use a fine restorer for final polishing and restoration.
